I was born and grew up in Brasília, Brazil. I started learning guitar by myself at age 16, and after few moths I started studying classical guitar with Raphael Freitas and later on with Maurízio Martins. At age of 18, I started my Bachelor studies at the University of Brasília, oriented mainly by Alvaro Henrique, Alessandro Borges and Eustáquio Grilo.
In Brasília I played in the main musical venues of the city, as the “Guitarissimo” at the Instituto Cervantes and “Sextas Musicais” at the Thomas Jefferson. I recorded television programs for the Senate TV as well as for the Camara of Deputies TV. During this time I recorded my first Album, which financed the pursue of my current concert guitar, and won 2 national prizes; one in Belo Horizonte, the “BdMG young musicians”, and one in Rio de Janeiro, the “Música no Museu”. This last one is a competition opened for all instruments, which I was the first guitarist to win the first prize in the history of the contest.
At age 24 I had my debut as a soloist with the Brasília National Orchestra, playing the Villa-Lobos guitar concerto, under the direction of Claudio Cohen. In the same year I was approved to the Master studies in Berlin, supported by the “FAC”, Brasília Cultural Founding.
So, after 8 years when I started to learn to play the guitar, I moved to Germany to start my Master studies in one of the most prodigious musical institutions in Europe. For 2 years I was student of the Prof. Dr. Daniel Göritz, at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eiler.
Since then, I am based in Berlin, where I live from the great privilege of working with music, by performing, teaching, arranging and composing it. Here, I have met extraordinary people and wonderful musicians from all over the world. With them I am expending my worldview and cooperating in the making of music.
I taught for 7 years at the music school “Johann Sebastian Bach” in Potsdam, and since 2024, guitar teacher at music school “Fanny Hensel” in Berlin. Teaching for me stands in the same level of love and dedication as playing or writing music. To present, guide and inspire new people on the way of learning music through an instrument is a privileged experience and responsibility.
My current projects, beyond the release of my new solo Album, are in chamber music; arranging for and playing in duos and trios, and having commission to make arrangements for diverse ensembles and musical styles.
